We all long for those quiet moments when we can simply relax and do nothing. For some, this may look like laziness or an excuse to disconnect — but in truth, these pauses are essential.
Think of life like a rubber band. If you want to stretch further, you pull it — but stretch it too far, and it loses its shape or snaps altogether. It can never return to its original form, and the risk of breaking grows with each pull.
People are no different. When we constantly stretch ourselves without rest, we edge closer to burnout. With pauses - without moments to breathe — we eventually break.
That is why self-care matters. When we take time to rest, to recharge, we not only protect our own well-being but also begin to understand why others need the same.
Siesta are not signs of weakness — they are acts of wisdom.
My Journey:
When I was younger, I spent most of my time working hard and indulging in good food and alcohol. Over time, my health began to suffer, and I faced several medical scares.
Those moments were a wake up call. I knew something had to change. That was when I made the decision to turn my life around. I began exercising regularly, eating more mindfully, gradually cutting back on unhealthy habits.
Because when I take care of my own body, I can take care of the people I love.
