How many of us journey through life but stop short of persevering in the things we truly love? Often, the passions we once held dear fade — not because they no longer matter, but because we get distracted by other pursuits that seem more urgent, rewarding, or simply more convenient.
Our time is constantly pulled in different directions — by work, family responsibilities, and the endless scroll of social media. In the midst of it all, we forget what once lit us up inside.
But we owe it to ourselves to make time — to rekindle that spark. Whether it’s painting, playing sports, traveling, photography, or something else entirely, these passions deserve space in our lives.
And here’s the beauty of it: if we can persevere in just one thing we truly love, imagine how much more we are capable of achieving in other areas of life. Passion fuels purpose, and purpose drives progress.
My Journey:
I have always been someone who loves exploring new things. You could say I am a jack of all trades, though not a master of any one— except for one passion I have stayed committed to since I was 14: playing computer games. What started as a love for solving in-game problems laid the foundation for my 25-year career in the IT industry. It taught me how to think critically, stay curious, and never give up on finding solutions.
Along the way, I also discovered a love for photography and sports — two passions I still pursue today. Sports, however, came with its share of setbacks. I have dealt with sprained ankles, a knee injury, and even shoulder surgery. While those challenges forced me to pause, they never stopped me completely. Once I recovered, I got back to doing what I loved.
Through it all, perseverance has been my constant. And I hope my journey serves as a reminder that no matter the setbacks, staying committed to what you love can lead to growth, fulfilment, and even unexpected career paths. If you keep going, you never know where your passion might take you.
