"Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up." - Pablo Picasso, Spanish painter
There are always moments in our life when we come across things that are out of the ordinary. Do we marvel at them or see them as bad omens? Why do we instinctively lean towards the negative even when we are seeing something truly magnificent?
Instead, lets train our minds to see beauty in the unexpected — notice the colours, the shapes and the patterns. Do the colours bring you joy, hope and love? Do the shapes spark new ideas in your mind? These moments of wonders can ignite our creativity and inspire us to imagine something new. All from that spark, our dreams are born.
My Journey:
When I was seven years old, I loved to draw — and I still remember the thrill of seeing one of my drawings displayed in the library. As I grew older, my focus shifted from creativity to academics. I was often told that being an artist wasn't a practical career, that it wouldn't earn you big money.
At thirteen, art found its way back into my life for a brief two years before I turned my attention toward science. Then 36 years later, at the age of 50, I was introduced to acyclic painting and something in me reignited. The passion to create came back again.
Never quench your desires because your gift is still within you. It only waits for the right moment to return.
